Solar safety checks

A bad solar install can burn your house down.

Yours might be perfect. Or it might have been rushed, wired badly, and left on your roof for ten years by a company that no longer exists. Nobody has looked at it since. We look at it, and if it is wrong, we put it right.

Every system we condemn looked fine from the ground

Why we exist

Most solar was fitted fast, then forgotten about.

Fitted in a hurry

Solar sold quickly, and a lot of it went on roofs at speed by crews who were on to the next house by lunchtime. Good work and bad work look identical from your garden.

Never looked at since

Once it was switched on, nobody came back. It has sat through ten winters, and the parts that fail are the parts nobody can see.

Nobody left to call

Plenty of the companies that fitted these systems are gone. No warranty, no paperwork, no one answering the phone. Your roof, your problem.

When solar goes wrong it does not trip a switch or set off an alarm. It gets hot, quietly, above your bedrooms, until it does not.

What we do

We check it. Properly, and in one visit.

We bring our own access equipment, get up there, and go over the whole system. You get a report in plain English with photos: what is safe, what is not, and what it costs to fix. No jargon, and nothing you need an electrician to translate.

Repairs, replacements and MCS

And if it is wrong, we put it right.

We are not here to hand you a list of problems and leave. Whatever the check finds, we can fix it, and we do the lot ourselves.

  • New panels where the old ones are damaged or past it
  • New inverters and batteries, fitted and labelled properly
  • Rewiring, new isolators, and the fixings done again correctly
  • Our own scaffolders, so access is arranged in-house and priced up front
  • The system signed off to MCS standards, so it is certified and insurable again

If your installer has vanished, that is not a dead end. We take the system on, make it safe, and give you the paperwork you never got.

How it works

Three steps, and the first one takes five minutes.

  1. 01

    Send us photos

A few photos of the house and your inverter, using the form below. It is all on your phone and takes about five minutes.

  2. 02

    We price it

We look at what you sent and come back within one working day with a fixed price and a date. Nothing to pay to find out.

  3. 03

    We check it

We come out, go over the system, and give you the report. If work is needed, the price for that is in there too.

Get your system checked

Send us a few photos and we will take it from there.

Send what you can. If you have no paperwork and no idea who fitted it, that is fine, that is most of our work. Anything you skip, we sort out on site.

Your details

This tells our scaffolders what they are turning up to, which is how we keep the price fixed.

Photos of the house

Stand back far enough to get the roof in. Daylight, straight off your phone, no need to be clever about it.

Photos of the kit

The inverter is the box that hums, usually in the loft, garage or on an outside wall. If the label with the model number is in shot, even better.

Do not go on the roof. Photograph the panels from the ground or an upstairs window. Climbing up there is our job, and we bring the kit for it.

Who fitted it?

If you have no idea, say so. It genuinely does not matter, it just helps us know what we are walking into.

Your details go straight to our office. We do not sell them or pass them to anyone else.
